Away from the sanctuary of our country retreat, the Lake District is overflowing with excitement and attractions and Ings Mill Park offers the perfect launch pad. Walking, cycling and mountain biking opportunities are plentiful, straight from the park -- whilst climbing, abseiling, fishing, water sports are all within easy reach.

For the more gentle options, explore the abundance of historic castles, houses and gardens or visit the picturesque Lakeland market towns and villages renowned for their country inns and restaurants where you can enjoy Cumbria's reputation for traditional fare and warm hospitality. Within walking distance, the award winning Watermill Inn offers a wide range of real ales and serves delicious homemade meals throughout the day. Windermere – offering a plethora of fine eateries and restaurants – is a 40 minute walk, whilst the other Lakeland towns of Ambleside, Keswick, Grasmere and Kendal are all within easy striking distance. 

The main bus route between Lancaster, Kendal, Windermere and Keswick runs through the village. Taxis are readily available and train stations are situated at Staveley and Windermere.
